High Point Market reveals 2026 furniture trends: warm tones replace cool minimalism

The fall 2025 edition of High Point Market, the world’s largest home furnishings trade event, confirmed a decisive style shift for 2026: consumers are moving away from cool, minimal interiors toward spaces that feel warm, personal and comfortable. Showroom after showroom featured rich earthy tones, curved silhouettes and traditional craftsmanship rather than the stark minimalism that had dominated recent years.
Industry trade publication Furniture Today identified seven trends retailers were told to stock for 2026: comfort-first upholstery with oversized sofas, warm earthy color palettes like olive and ochre replacing cool grays, refreshed traditional silhouettes, multi-functional and modular furniture, and natural materials including solid wood and rattan. “Furniture in 2026 reflects a consumer who is done with disposable,” the publication’s editorial team said, pointing to buyers seeking pieces built to last rather than trend-driven, short-lived purchases.
