Zillow and Realtor.com form pre-market listing pact to counter Compass-Redfin

Zillow and Realtor.com agreed in May 2026 to share pre-market listings under a new arrangement called Realtor.com Preview, deepening the split of the US property listings market into two rival camps roughly ten weeks after Compass struck its own pre-market alliance with Rocket-owned Redfin. The Zillow-Realtor.com deal covered every US market except New York City.
Together, the two portals reached roughly three-quarters of major real estate portal visitors, according to data cited in the announcement, with Zillow Preview already counting more than 60 participating franchisors and brokerages, including Keller Williams, RE/MAX and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. Zillow’s CEO framed the deal as “creating true seller choice,” while Realtor.com’s CEO struck a more cautious tone, reiterating a preference for listings flowing through the traditional multiple listing service system rather than being split across competing pre-market networks.
