Lucid recalls its cheapest EV over power loss risk while driving

Lucid Motors issued a recall in June 2026 for its entry-level Air Pure model, the company’s cheapest EV, after identifying an issue where internal components in the vehicle’s inverter may become damaged over time, potentially leading to signal interruptions and loss of power while the car is being driven.
The recall added Lucid to a growing list of EV makers dealing with reliability issues as the industry matures beyond its earliest, lower-volume years. Unlike some recalls that can be resolved with a remote software update, inverter-related hardware issues of this kind typically require an in-person service visit, since the underlying component itself needs physical inspection or replacement rather than a firmware fix alone.
