Team Vitality wins back-to-back CS2 Majors after StarLadder Budapest

Team Vitality closed out 2025 as the dominant force in Counter-Strike 2, winning the StarLadder Budapest Major in December after already claiming the Blast.tv Austin Major earlier that year, becoming the tournament’s back-to-back defending champions. The Budapest event ran from November 24 to December 14, 2025, featuring 32 teams competing for a $1.25 million prize pool, with Team Spirit and Natus Vincere finishing as runners-up.
The result extended Vitality’s dominant run through the CS2 Major circuit, having beaten The MongolZ 2-1 at Austin and FaZe Clan 3-1 at Budapest to claim both of that season’s biggest titles. Valve continued adjusting the format around the Majors that followed, including an update to its Regional Standings system in January 2026 that shaped which teams received direct invites to the next Major in Cologne later that year.
